Evaluating development proposals
Where specific development changes are proposed, a 3D model allows a more comprehensive preview of proposed changes than architect’s drawings can provide. Once a proposed development is in place in the City Model, a number of applications or tests can be completed.
Virtual Viewing creates 3d models that you can interact with, you can load multiple scenarios addressing key points through our the development process.
A City Model can, for example, allow:
- developers to show realistic settings for proposed buildings
- local authorities to invite alternative treatments that can be compared quickly and cost-effectively – in three dimensions and in situ - to ensure that chosen designs or solutions are right for the city.
City planners can also require a developer to provide a finished 3D model of a proposed building, which can then be inserted into the city’s virtual model so that its suitability to be assessed. Virtual Viewing can provide models of proposed developments as a chargeable service.
