Virtual Viewing designed the Elmers Hardware site to:
- accommodate an extensive product range by designing a multi-level category system, fully administrable by Elmers through the website’s administration systems (starting from each main category, customers can drill down through sub-categories to find specific product types)
- cater for the brand-aware shopper, listing all the major brands carried by Elmers as clickable categories and allowing the shopper to browse by manufacturer
- Include a series of product-type specific Special Offers sections
- support a range of variable product-specific options (such as sizes for garden footwear)
- enable Elmers to configure shipping cost criteria (such as a spend total over which shipping is free of charge).
The site also has an additional, content managed feature to support Elmers in their involvement in the annual Toolshow – a major exhibition and sales event.
As well as maintaining the content of pages to promote the Toolshow, the web site’s secure administration facilities also enable this element of the site navigation to toggle on or off during appropriate periods of the year. |
