Working against tight deadlines to ensure that the site was ready for the network’s inaugural event, Virtual Viewing deployed its OSCAR content management system and a templated design to design and evolve a web presence that:
- provides a searchable catalogue of SPARC events
- includes a searchable online News section, with facilities for site users to submit their own news items
- employs a site-wide subject classification system to allow news, events and resources to be cross-related
- enables member organisations to post details of their own events
- provides online membership application
- incorporates a database on online resources
- hosts a restricted access database of network members
- provides SPARC with editorial authority of user-submitted content.
Almost every page within the site can also be updated through the content management interface, enabling SPARC to easily ensure that stays up-to-date without dependence on Virtual Viewing. |
